Welcome back!

In my last blog, I told you about our family vacation in Portugal. We enjoyed our visit to Lisbon. My favorite was walking on the walls of the famous St. George Castle. There were peacocks everywhere! We ate “Pastel de Nata,” a pastry made of flaky crust filled with custard. The fiery sunset on the bay was enchanting! If you are curious about this adventure, click here.

Today is a Q&A blog. Wow, I sound like a grown-up! Do you know what that means? Q = Questions and A = Answers. Easy, eh?  I will answer your questions.

Patrick (8 yrs old, USA): Joey, can the Tooth Fairy really fly?

Dear Patrick: The Tooth Fairy uses her Praconama wheelchair to fly around the castle. Yes, it is a long, funny name. It stands for practical, convenient, and amazing.  She is very proud of her chair. You can read more about it here

Susie (6 yrs old, Australia): Joey, can I also contact the Tooth Fairy?

Dear Susie: The Tooth Fairy enjoys reading messages from children around the world. You can contact her by using this Contact Form on my site. Please ask your parents’ permission. Mom and Dad say it is better if you write the message with your parents. The Tooth Fairy always answers her messages. You can read her blog here.

Luca (10 yrs old, Germany): Ideas to help our friend? Joey, my best friend recently had an accident and needs to use a wheelchair. We used to ride our bikes and play basketball together. Now he can’t. He is sad and feels left out. My other friends and I want to include him in our games, but we don’t know how.

Dear Luca: That is a very good question. My cousin, Mark, also had an accident many years ago and can’t walk anymore. This is what my other cousin and I did to cheer him up. We modified the basketball game to include him. We used our bikes to move around, but without pedaling. It is very hard to balance your bike while dribbling the ball!  On my birthday, he was very happy. When we were playing basketball, he told us, “I was accepted into the wheelchair basketball team!”  We all gave him a high-five! Did you know this game was invented in 1944 by Sir Ludwig Guttmann? He is considered the father of the Paralympic movement. Maybe your friend can join a wheelchair basketball team, too?

Lucia (7 yrs old, Mexico): Where can I buy a Tooth Fairy T-Shirt?

Dear Lucia: You can buy the T-Shirt and other items at our Merchandise Store.

Sepp (9 yrs old, Austria): How did you survive the Solar Storm?

Dear Sepp: I remembered hitting my head on my seat and falling into space. When I woke up, I was wrapped in my blanket. Ahhh I almost forgot, the Tooth Fairy wrote a blog about it. You can read it here.

Marie (8 yrs old, Canada): When can I buy your book in English?

Dear Marie: Mom and I are looking for a publisher. We are hoping to have it ready before Christmas! (wink)

Thanks to all my fans for sending these questions.  I enjoyed reading and answering your messages. Keep them coming!

Gotta run now! There is a national wheelchair championship in town, and Mark’s team is playing. In my next blog, I will tell you about the “World Letter Writing Day”.

Remember to brush your teeth and keep them clean for the Tooth Fairy.
